Mission & Vision

Shaping tomorrow's mobility together

Ecosystem Mobility 4.0 enables the implementation of interoperable and scalable mobility solutions with extensive automation by industry, the public sector and other stakeholders, through open integration architectures, shared rules and pooled expertise.

As an independent institution, we provide more than just guidance: we create a reliable and effective organisation in which top talent works in a focused and collaborative way on the issues that truly matter – free from constant noise, with a genuine ambition to shape outcomes.

Our Mission

We operationalise the high-tech agenda for automated driving, moving from public affairs into the depths of technological value creation. We establish the open integration foundation for a mobility landscape shaped by automation: architecture, rules and reliable guiding principles, enabling others to scale successfully and fostering industrial market structures that create jobs and are sustainable in the long term.

Our vision

We envisage a mobility world in which automation operates broadly, safely and economically, enabled by an open ecosystem that facilitates knowledge sharing, sets standards and accelerates innovation. Ecosystem Mobility 4.0 is an integral, interconnected part of key national and European initiatives – and a foundation for a dynamic provider market.

How we operate

Ecosystem Mobility 4.0 works along clearly defined fields of action – with a robust organizational setup that turns loosely connected individual contributions into coordinated, high-impact collaboration.
United by a strong sense of community: we can achieve something together – and the urgency to do so is real.
Specifically, we connect five levels of impact:

  1. Community
building sustainable networks and cooperation structures with a genuine sense of belonging
  2. Architecture
creating open integration and reference architectures
  3. Technology
establishing open technology and methodology building blocks, including open-source solutions
  4. Regulation and economy
aligning regulatory and economic frameworks and stimulating a growing provider market
  5. Transfer
systematically integrating pilot projects, building knowledge and enabling scalable transfer, both nationally and internationally
